RIGHTS DISCOURSE IN INDIA
Minority Rights Discourse
in India is a monograph prepared by the author during
his stay at the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla
as its Fellow. Minority Discourse at the national and international
level is a wide discourse but the present study concentrates
mainly on the constitutional, cultural and educational Rights
of Minorities in India besides conceptual articulations of
minority rights in general.
Besides an elaborate Exodium,
the book is divided in six chapters. In the first chapter
concepts of minority, minority formation and minority rights
have been focused. Second chapter analyses minority rights
under international law.
Constitutional vision and minority forms the corpus of the
third chapter. Last two chapters mainly concentrate on judicial
response to various aspects of cultural and educational rights
of the minorities in India. All those interested in minority
rights discourse will find this thought-provoking book.
