Schools
The Institute
organises Schools round the year. These are two-week long
teaching and discussion. The events are meant to acquaint
young scholars with the intellectual advances in various fields.
In the recent past the Institute has organised Schools on
‘Research Methodology: Analayzing Quantitative
Data on Indian Politics’; ‘Oral as Resource’;
‘The Life and Thought of Mahatma Gandhi’;
‘The Mahabharata Today’; ‘Community,
Tribes and Modernity’; and ‘Classroom
Introduction to Philosophy: Understanding the Nature of Reality,
Knowledge and Value'.
While the actual format followed is specific to each School,
they all aim at giving the young scholars an opportunity to
interact with and learn from senior scholars who are invited
to give lectures in the School. All the details of the proposed
Schools (themes, dates and eligibility for participation)
are made available on the web site of the Institute from time
to time. Some of these Schools are organised in collaboration
with other institutes of repute.
